"Rustic Italian Dinner: Homemade Spaghetti Bolognese with Red Wine"

[Buffer] Ingredients: 1. 2 tbsp olive oil 2. 1 lb ground beef 3. 1 onion, finely chopped 4. 2 celery stalks, finely chopped 5. 2 carrots, finely chopped 6. 2 cloves garlic, minced 7. 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz) 8. 1 cup red wine 9. Salt and pepper to taste 10. 1 lb spaghetti 11. Fresh basil leaves for garnish 12. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese to serve Instructions: 1. Warm up the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. This should take approximately 1-2 minutes. 2. Add the ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spoon or spatula. Cook until browned, which should take about 5-7 minutes. Make sure to stir occasionally for even cooking. 3. Remove the browned beef from the pan and set it aside. In the same pan, add the chopped onions, celery, and carrots. Sauté these vegetables until they become soft and translucent. This step should take about 5 minutes. 4. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. 5. Return the browned beef back to the pan. Add the can of crushed tomatoes and red wine. Stir all the ingredients together. 6. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 30 minutes. 7. As the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. It should take about 8-10 minutes to have it al dente - cooked through but still firm when bitten. 8. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti. Tip: save a cup of pasta water for later. 9. Toss the drained spaghetti into the pan with the simmered Bolognese sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water. 10. Serve the spaghetti Bolognese on a plate or in a bowl. Top it with a bash of fresh basil leaves and generous amounts of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Remember, the key to a delicious spaghetti Bolognese is patience. Allow the flavors to develop and blend together as the sauce simmers. This dish is best enjoyed with a side of crusty bread and a glass of red wine. Enjoy your meal! Total time to cook: Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes
